NBC 17 Shredding Event Frequently Asked Questions

This Saturday is the NBC 17 Shredding Event. Protect yourself from identity theft by bringing your Personal Documents to be shredded! Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

*Will you be there even if it rains?
Yes, this is a rain or shine event.

*Is there a limit on how much can be shredded?
There is no limit to the number of Personal Documents that can be shredded at the event.

*Do I need to remove staples?
You do not need to remove staples, paper clips, etc. The shredder will be able to handle those with ease.

*What type of container do I need to use for my items to be shredded?
You can use any container from plastic bags to boxes, etc. Whatever type container is easiest to transport from your home to your vehicle to get the items to the event.

*May I have my container back?
Yes, you can have your container back as soon as your items have been dumped into the shredder. Just be sure to tell the volunteer who assists you in getting your items to the truck that you would like to take the container home with you.

*Do I need to bring my own hand truck?
No. NBC 17 has volunteers with hand trucks at the event to assist you with getting your items to the trucks.

Fall 2009 NBC 17 Shredding Event Oct. 3, 2009, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

 

Come out to shred your documents and protect your identity. 

Goodwill will be on site to accept your donations.

Heritage Wake Forest Location: 

 We will be at the pool/clubhouse at the corner of Marshall Farm Street and Heritage View Trail.  When you enter the traffic circle on Marshall Farm Street, take the first right, and make an immediate left into the parking lot of the pool/clubhouse.Heritage Wake Forest Location

 

Tryon Place Location: 

We will be inside the neighborhood.  Look for the signs along Tryon Road once you enter Tryon Place. Tryon Place Location

 

Crossroads Plaza Location: 

We will be right off Crossroads Boulevard in the parking lot in front of Michaels and Old Navy.  Crossroads Plaza Location

NBC 17 Fall Shredding Event 2009

Shredding Event Durham 

The Fall 2009 NBC 17 Shredding Event will be Oct. 3 from 10am – 2pm.

Current confirmed locations are:

1) Tryon Place neighborhood at the corner of Tryon Road and Burtons Barn Street

2) Heritage Wake Forest at the corner of Marshall Farm Street and Heritage View Trail

3) Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center in Cary.

Protect yourself from identity theft!  Come out and shred your documents for free! 

Goodwill will also be on site to take your donations of clothing and household items.  While you’re there, you can meet NBC 17 personalities and get tips on identity theft prevention from the North Carolina Attorney General’s office.
